About Me

Hi I’m Alana, Welcome to The Little Leaf.

I am originally from the South Island, New Zealand but moved to Australia 6 years ago after I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree.

‘The Little Leaf’ name came from my doodles, I love to doodle & always find myself drawing the exact same leaf patterns.

I paint, draw & love to take photos! My work is always patterned colourful & heavily influenced by nature.

The Little Leaf is a place where I can share my art & work in progress, find motivation & inspire others, as well as share things that inspire me.

Hey Alana, thank you for following my blog. I’m following yours too! I love your Macro photography – some day soon I’ll be buying myself a macro lens so I can really get into this area of photography as it is my favourite! Your sketching and painting is stunning. I am an amature watercolour painter but unfortunately I don’t get much time to work because of my studies. Overall I would like to thank you for making me excited and enthusiastic to get into my art again and to better my photography. Your creativity and skill is wonderful!

I like it – a blog that combines photography with other media to portray images. You’re following in the footsteps of the Impressionists, who created their style during the growth of early photography. And you live in a part of the world where you’re surrounded by unique subjects. I definitely want to see more of your work.

Greetings, Alana. I am really enjoying your site – your artwork is understated, a quality I happen to like very much. And I see you are a kiwi, too! I think you visited my website before, but I lost track of you somehow. Thanks for visiting again. I noticed today you have followed a blog that I do not use at the present. Several people have and I don’t know how they are finding it, but let me give you the link to my current site:

Thanks for ‘liking’ my ‘Lambing Season’ and so introducing me to your site. Rather like you, I have a particular interest in abstract and non-figurative picture-making but I also try to capture the seasonal changes. I’ve enjoyed my first visit and will be back – very soon!
